The People’s National Congress Reform says that in light of the serious social, economic and security crisis which now overshadows Guyana, “it would be inappropriate to create the impression that all is well in our Republic.”

Against that background, according to a PNCR press release, party leader Robert Corbin had indicated that he would not have attended the State-sponsored rally at the National Park to commemorate the 37th Anniversary of Independence.

“We await evidence of substantial progress on the implementation of the critical elements arrived at in the recently signed Communique and positive programmes to address the crisis we face. Participation of the PNCR in this event will then be reviewed,” the release stated.
