Former Miss Guyana/Universe, Mia Rahaman, was detained early yesterday morning at Canada's Pearson International Airport with a suspected illicit substance in her luggage.
Sources last evening told Stabroek News that Rahaman, who only completed her reign in February of this year, was found with the substance concealed in a baked chicken in her suitcase.
The former beauty queen left Guyana at around 7 pm on Tuesday on an Air Transat Flight and was held just around 1 am yesterday in Toronto.
A close relative flew up to Toronto yesterday morning after she was detained. Toronto police authorities were not releasing any information last night on the matter as their investigations had not been completed.
