The Private Sector Commission has appointed Bal Parsaud as its new Executive Director, with effect from Thursday, to replace David Yankana who retired from the post earlier this year.

Parsaud has over 25 years experience in senior and executive management, and holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration and postgraduate qualifications in Management Studies and Information Science, a media release stated. He worked for 17 years as a senior professional staff at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine before returning to Guyana in 1997 as Administrative/ Finance Director of the Environmental Protection Agency and later as the agency’s Executive Director.

He was also Chairman of the Guyana Forestry Commission between 1998 and 2001 and a member of many committees in the Public Sector.

The executive of the PSC, the release noted, is looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial working relationship with Parsaud and hopes it will ultimately lead to a commission that can truly serve the needs of its membership.
