If Guyana is to host matches of the 2007 World Cup tournament to be run by the West Indies Cricket Board in collaboration with the International Cricket Council, then it is imperative that this country provide a facility that meets international standards and requirements. Towards this end, the venue should have most if not all of the following:-

1) Maximum and proper seating accommodation.
2) Open air and VIP parking.
3) Multiple pitches (some grounds have more than five pitches on the square)
4) At least two scoreboards, one of which must be electronic.
5) Phone booths or kiosks at various parts of the ground.
6) Practice nets preferably on the outskirts of the venue.
7) Stadium lights for day and night matches.
8) Gymnasium for weight training and other forms of exercise.
9) Proper drainage facilities.
10) Boundary boards completed to World Cup specifications.
11) Press suites for print and electronic media and a separate area for the TV crews.
12) VIP suites for dignitaries and other persons of importance.
13) Toilet facilities at various parts of the venue.
