Barbadian artiste John King will be singing his hit song 'How Many More?' at a Stop de Killin' Concert tomorrow night at Independence Park in Georgetown.

The event is being organized by the University of Guyana Student Society (UGSS) and Artistes United Against Violence with other featured artistes such as 'Black Hat,' Compton Hodge, 'Kester D,' the National Dance Company, Sean Sobers, Winfield James, 'First Born' and the 'Mighty Tempest.'

According to a release from co-ordinator Jonathan Adams, this is a quest to challenge the cold-blooded executions by criminals, the anonymous and by those who are supposed to protect the helpless.

"The reprehensiveness of these killings has not numbed our minds into acceptance of this mindless destruction. All Guyanese are now outraged by this phenomenon. It will take courage to halt this debacle," the statement read.

Adams said the open-air concert, which starts at 8:00 pm is free and there will be music by Mingles and Fusion Sound System. Patrons are also being encouraged to wear red and/or black or to walk with red or black rags as a protest against killings in Guyana.

A minute's silence will be observed in memory of all those murdered and the organizers are calling on persons from all regions of Guyana to attend. The release also enjoined organizations which have been involved in protesting against this phenomenon to walk with their banners.

"The artistes at this concert want to join the call for the Guyanese nation to work to stop de killin," Adams stated.

The release said that for more information, Adams could be contacted at 263-0622 or the University of Guyana Student Society, Turkeyen Campus. The UGSS began its protest action following the shooting death of 17-year-old Yohance Douglas, an architecture student, at the hands of members of the Guyana Police Force.
