AN altercation on Wednesday night between a woman and the Leader of Justice For All and owner of CNS 6, Mr. Chandra Naraine Sharma, resulted in both being treated for minor injuries and the woman being briefly detained by the Police.

According to reports, Mr. Sharma, who was hospitalized around midnight, took his own discharge a few hours later - early Thursday morning from the city hospital - and the woman was subsequently released from the custody of the Police.

Reports say that Sharma and the nineteen-year-old woman, identified only as Arti Persaud, and living in Success, were involved in an argument in a house on Smyth Street, Charlestown. The heated exchange between the two turned into a scuffle and in the process Mr. Sharma received stab wounds to his shoulder, left arm and back.

He was rushed to a city hospital.

However, reports on the television news magazine, ‘News Today’, aired on CNS Channel 6 Thursday afternoon, said that, according to Sharma, the incident was untrue and the allegation was an attack on his character.

The report further stated that Mr. Sharma was admitted to the hospital after he suffered an attack of high blood pressure.

He was subsequently reported to have admitted the altercation but said it was a personal affair about which he had no obligation to divulge information.
