COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF of the Armed Forces, President Bharrat Jagdeo, has expressed his appreciation to members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the Guyana Defence Force for their efforts in addressing the crime situation in the country.

President Jagdeo was loud in his praise of the police force for stepping up its crime fight initiatives, and of the Army for lending ample, timely support to the Police in this regard.

The sentiments of gratitude were conveyed in separate letters to Commissioner of Police Floyd Mc Donald D.S.M and Army Chief-of- Staff, Brigadier General Michael Atherly.

The letters acknowledged that the officers of the law enforcement agencies “continue to demonstrate admirable bravery and courage even under testing and dangerous conditions. For these efforts, they deserve the commendation and support of all law-abiding citizens in our country.”

The Commander-in-Chief also assured both the Police and Army of his administration’s support for the lawful discharge of the Joint Services duties. (GOVERNMENT INFORMATION AGENCY-GINA)
