Mia, who was Guyana’s delegate at the Miss Universe 2002 Pageant in Puerto Rico, left Guyana on Tuesday aboard a direct Air Transat flight for Canada.
According to reports reaching the Chronicle, the former Guyana beauty queen was an incoming passenger at an airport in Toronto when a check of her luggage unearthed the prohibited substance.
Family members here were however tight-lipped about the incident.
