President meets Lindeners

President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday morning met a group of about forty seven Lindeners at the Presidential Secretariat, New Garden Street, as a follow up to meetings he had with them during a visit to their hometown during last month.

The meeting largely addressed community development, the role of residents, and what Government can do to help.

During meetings with them on his various trips to the mining town rrecently, the President urged Lindeners to form small groups and come up proposals for community projects that will meet the needs of villagers.

Among the projects the President committed to are construction and repairs to key bridges in the mining town, with residents input being in the form of self-help.

Also present at the meeting was Ms. Philomena Sahoye Shury, government official responsinle for CDCs.
