In a release issued late yesterday afternoon, the Police categorically stated that no such report had been given to them. The Force said it is cognizant of a joint investigation which is underway and which has not yet been completed.
A report is expected from a team of officers from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The officials were dispatched here following the kidnapping of the Chief Security of the US Embassy in Georgetown, Mr Stephen Lesniak.
Lesniak, 35, was abducted as he played golf at the Lusignan Golf Course on Saturday April 12. He was reportedly taken into the troubled village of Buxton, where he was held captive until a ransom was paid by his friends.
