WITH just a few days to go before the past greats battle in what is dubbed ‘Down Memory Lane’, there have been much bragging by the pugilists who will be involved in Saturday night’s showdown at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

The card is being staged by the The People’s Syndicate Promotions, in association with Cecil ‘Koker Dog’ Alfred and Piggy Griffith, along with Banks DIH Limited and the first gong will sound at 20:00 hrs.

The 32-round card aims to give fighters who lost their previous fights an opportunity to win their last fights because only three boxers had won their fights - Michael Parris, Robin Lall and Marcel Daniels.

Part of the proceedings from the event will go towards feeding children in the Albouystown community.

Entering the ring will be some well-known personalities and past champions, including Guyana’s only Olympic medallist Michael Parris and promoter Keith Bazilio.

The past champions are Parris, Lall, Linden Mortley and Barrington Cambridge.

The main bout features Bazilio and Ivor ‘Baba’ Simmons and apart from the normal purse, the winner will receive a trophy, compliments of Ramesh Sunich of The Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.

The main supporting bout brings together Leroy Lewis and Cecil ‘Koker Dog’ Alfred.

The other match-ups are: Fitzroy Davidson v Ovid Jack; Grimmond Halley v Malcolm Hawker; Leslie ‘Bill Blacks’ Forde v Roy Smith; Linden ‘Buckman’ Mortley v Dennis ‘The Kid’ Dalrymple; Dennis McKenzie v Maxie ‘Street Fighter’ Sargeant; and Michael Parris v Winston Goodridge.
