PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, (CMC) - Sri Lanka cruised to a seven-wicket win over the West Indies at the Sir Frank Worrell Cricket Centre on Sunday to secure a 2-0 lead in their women's six-match limited over series.

The West Indies, electing to bat, posted 153 all out in 49.3 overs, and the Sri Lankans responded with 154 for three in 41.4 overs to complement the 27-run triumph they had in the first game in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday.

Off-spinners Suthershini Sivanandham, and Sandamali Dolewatte were the chief wicket-takers for the Sri Lankans as the home side struggled to register a challenging total.

Opener Glenda James top-scored with 46, including four boundaries, while captain Verena Felicien (20) and Nadine George (20) were the next best contributors, against Dolewatte with four for 25 off 10 overs and captain Sivanandham, with three for 43 off 10.

The left-handed Hiruka Fernando, with an unbeaten 42, and Wasanthi Ratnayake, who was run-out for 40, led Sri Lanka's batting in their successful run-chase.

Felicien (1-20) and Candacy Adkins (1-24) were the wicket-takers for the West Indies.

The third match in the series will be played at the Queen's Park Oval today.
