THE Police have advised hire car drivers plying the East Coast Demerara route that due care and consideration must be exercised when venturing into South Buxton, beyond the main road.

A statement from the Public Relations Office said, within the past week, they received at least three reports of incidents of drivers being attacked and robbed by armed criminals "while dropping off passengers".

"Additionally, we have also received reports that two persons, who had gone into Buxton, south of the main road with motorcycles, were attacked and robbed of various personal effects," the advisory said.
