Roraima Bikers' Tyrone Hamilton lived up to expectations yesterday by adding the senior match sprint title to the 1000-metre kilo time trial title he secured on Saturday in the Guyana Cycling Federation's (GCF) National Track Championships at the GCC ground.

Hamilton out-sprinted Warren McKay in winning the flying 200-metre event (match sprint) while Raymond Newton settled for third.

On Saturday, Hamilton won the 1000-metre kilo time trial in one minute 32.69 seconds. Second was Dwayne Gibbs, while McKay placed third.

The junior match sprint was won by Christopher Cush. Jorge Emmerson was second while Nicholas Thakur placed third.

The 4000-metre individual pursuit was won by Gordon Kennedy in a time of seven minutes, 02.89 seconds. Second was Newton while Vinesh Narine placed third.

Marlon Williams won the junior 1000-metre kilo time trial in a time of one minute, 36.33 seconds. Cush was second and Travis Mendonca third.

In yesterday's feature event (points race) over 25 laps, Kennedy outfoxed the field in winning the sprint home from Andrew Reece and Williams respectively.

However, because the race was competed for points Kennedy with 18 points took first place while Reece, who finished second in the sprint to the line, placed second with 13 points. Gibbs, who was with the chasing pack, placed third after accumulating 10 points.

Kennedy, who was with the chasing pack during the early stage of the race, joined the leaders after nine laps and stayed with them until the final lap when he jumped the others - Reece, Williams and Gerald Fowler - at the 275-metre mark and maintained the lead to the end.

On Saturday, Gibbs rode intelligently to win the feature 20-lap open race from Hamilton and McKay respectively.

In other results from yesterday, Travis Cipriani won the 5-lap race for juveniles. Darren Alleyne was second and Shane Boodhram third.

Albert Philander won the boys 12-14 years old four-lap racing cycle race from Alonzo Greaves and Cipriani respectively, while Ron Santos won the BMX boys 12-14 years old event from Richard Rohoman and Shafeek Rasul respectively.

Erica Wilson captured the female version.

The BMX boys 6-9 years old three-lap race was won by Jonathan Fagundes. Second was Romario Bhagwandin, while Steven Wong placed third. Christopher McIntosh continue to dominate the BMX boys 9-12 years category by winning yesterday's two-lap event from Geron Williams and Chris Persaud respectively.

Walter `Buck Man' Issacs won the veterans over-45 years four-lap race from Monty Parris and Aubrey Greavesande respectively.

The under-45 years category was won by Linden Blackman. Second was Deon `Sno Cone' David and third, Orrin Aaron.

Ashley Lall won the BMX girls 6-12 years old two-lap race from Sherri-Ann DeAbreu and Juliana Davidson.

Cush took the 'Devil takes the Hindmost' from Fowler and Reece respectively while Cliff Thomas captured the five-lap upright event. Second was Rupesh Beechan and third, Troy Davilar.
