United States based Guyanese cyclist Aubrey Gordon, secured Guyana's first ever medal at the World Masters Track Cycling Championships, by placing third in the 80-lap points race in Manchester, England on Thursday last.

According to reports from Manchester, Gordon who competed in the 45-49 years age group, placed third with six points.

The event was won by Kent Bostick who amassed 31 points by winning four of the eight sprints. The silver medal was won by Hugh Cameron who secured 10 points.

Earlier in the championships, Bostick won the pursuit crown.

After five days of competition, USA heads the medals table, followed by England and Trinidad and Tobago respectively.
