Defending fullbore rifle shooting champion, Ransford Goodluck, made a successful defence of his title by out-gunning his rivals over three days at the Timehri Rifle Ranges.

Goodluck who retained the overall title by scoring 340 points with 30 V Bulls (340/30), also captured the Wood Davis, Leslie Dowridge, Lushington, Wood Stock and Aubrey Tappin trophies.

Dwayne Blair occupied the second spot in the `A’ Class category by scoring 334/24, while Derek Narine who won the Valldarez 500-yard trophy on the first day, ended third overall with 329/23. Claude Dugid was fourth with 322/15.

Narine also won the Junior Sports Bar and the Denise Carryl aggregate trophies.

The `O’ Class category was won by Ryan Sampson who registered 313/15. Everad Nelson was second with 307/9 while Carryl placed third with 243/3.

After finishing second overall to Sampson on day two (Saturday), Goodluck returned on Sunday to record scores of 50/6, 33/2 and 44/0 at the 300, 600 and 1000-yard ranges.

On Saturday, Goodluck had scored 83/9 in the 500 and 600-yard ranges.

Blair shot 47/3, 34/3 and 45/3 respectively at the 300, 600 and 1000-yard ranges on Sunday, while Narine registered 43/0, 34/3 and 47/4 at the same ranges.
