Kaieteur cyclist Dwayne Gibbs proved true to form yesterday by winning the feature 30-lap event of the Continental Cycle Club organised, Banks DIH Limited sponsored-Richard Walcott Memorial Criterium, around the Sea Wall Band Stand.

Gibbs who made his intention known from the first lap by setting the tempo for what turned out to be the most enthralling event on the day’s 1`7-race card, also captured five of the ten prime prizes that were up for grabs.

The Federal Management Systems sponsored athlete also won the four-lap race for category one and two racers, and placed third in the open `Devil takes the Hindmost’ race.

Classical Developers, Contractors and Dream Works sponsored, Tyrone Hamilton who placed second in the 30-lap event, won the open `Devil takes the Hindmost’ race. Gordon Kennedy was third in the 30-lap event.

Hamilton won two primes in the feature race, while Kennedy, Gerald Fowler and Phillip Piggott won one each.

Hamilton also placed second to his coach, Gibbs, in the category one and two four-lap event, while Jude Bentley finished a lame third.

In other results; Linden cyclist Jorge Emmerson won both the four and six-lap events for juniors while Travis Cipriani captured the juveniles event over the same distances. Marlon Williams was second in the juniors four-lap and Christoper Cush second in the six-lap, while Nicolas Takur was third in the four-lap and Marlon Williams third in the six-lap.

Vidal Archer was second in both the juvenile four and six-lap races.

The category three four-lap event was won by Marlon Morrison. Second was Ian Jackson and third, Junior Niles. The category four race which was run simultaneously with the category three, was won by Gerald Fowler. Second was Lloyd Chichester.

Linden Blackman won the veterans and under-45 four-lap rand five-lap races. Deon David and Vaughn Phillips placed second and third respectively in the four-lap affair while Virgil Jones was second in the five-lap race and David third.

Johnathan Crevalle won the over-45 four-lap division from Walter Issacs and Compton Persaud respectively.

John Hamilton won both the three and four-lap events for upright racers. Roopesh Beechan was second in the three-lap affair and third in the four-lap, while David Davidson was third in the three-lap and second in the four-lap.

Romario Bhagwandin won the BMX boys 7-9 years old 300-metre sprint as well as the one lap race, while Christopher McIntosh won the BMX boys 300m and two-lap races.

Jonathan Fagundes was second to Bhagwandin in both the BMX 7-9 years old 300-metre sprint and the one lap race, while Sean Seymour was second in the 300-metre and Chris Persaud third in the one lap.

Geron Williams was second to McIntosh in the BMX boys 9-12 years 300-metre as well as the two-lap race.

The boys 12-14 years old two lap race was won by Albert Philander. Second was Darren Allen and third Shane Boodram.

The four-lap novice event was won by Deon Spencer. Second was Kevin Jones and third, Travis Cipriani.
