The police are still seeking activist Phillip Bynoe and TV personality, Mark Benschop for whom they had issued wanted bulletins on Friday.

A senior police officer yesterday told Stabroek News that the two would have known from the newspapers and television that they were wanted by the police but have not yet turned themselves in.

The police last week said that the two were wanted in connection with a series of offences.

Bynoe was at the forefront of last Wednesday’s protest which turned violent after some marchers stormed the Office of the President.

Two protesters were fatally shot in the presidential complex by guards. A presidential guard and several of the protesters were also injured.

Seventeen protesters were eventually arrested.

Benschop was seen among the protesters on that day. The police have since visited Benschop’s Laluni Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, home in search of the wanted man but he was not there.

Bynoe resides in Silver City, Wismar, Linden and this location was also searched by the police.
