National Association for women’s football re-launched

AN ambitious programme was presented as the National Association for Women’s football was re-launched on Saturday at the Bel Air secretariat of the Guyana Football Federation.

The executives are: President Yonette Jeffers, vice-president Monica Benn, secretary/treasurer Tessa Charles-Daniels, assistant secretary/treasurer Vanessa Dickenson, Players representative Theresa Torres, and technical representatives Romaine Ferreira and Ethlyn Bynoe.

A football clinic will kick off the programme in Georgetown this month. The clinics will continue next month for Linden and Kwakwani.

In February and March a Mash Female Fiesta is on the table, while in March, the re-energised body will embark on introducing peewee football to schools.

May and June have been earmarked for administration, referees and training/seminars for coaches.

July is the World Cup month and female football workshops are scheduled for that period.

An August holiday camp will be conducted in West Demerara while in September a competition to observe International Women’s Day will be staged.

October and November have been identified for review and assessment, while in the last month of the year, energies will be directed to the Kashif & Shanghai Christmas Football Festival.
