MEMBERS of Queen's College (QC) Board of Governors, the newly elected Executive of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), the Old Students Association (QCOSA), the teaching staff and Headmistress have had cordial discussions on a number of issues.

A joint statement by the QC Board, QCPTA and QCOSA, said some of the issues raised during the recent annual general meeting of the PTA, in particular, the delay in completion of the new structure (to replace the fire damaged part of the Camp and Thomas Roads, Georgetown building) were reviewed.

Reporting on the outcome of the October 23 talks at the school premises, the statement said, in relation to the completion of the school building, the steel, which has been imported from overseas by the contractor, is now on a wharf and, as soon as the relevant documents are processed, it will be released and the work will be completed within six weeks thereafter.

The statement, signed by Chairman of the Board, Mr Ronald Alli, said all the organisations represented expressed their commitment to working towards the successful completion of the new structure and the satisfactory resolution of all other issues, as may arise.

"The works will be reviewed as a normal agenda item at the monthly meeting of the Board of Governors, on which the PTA, QCOSA, Ministry of Education, teachers union and the staff are represented," the statement said, pointing out that the next Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5.
