Guyana's Clevland Forde and Tai Payne both returned silver medal winning performances at the Desmond E. Braxter Central Games which were staged at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Trinidad, on Tuesday night.

According to Forde's manager/coach Leslie Blacks, his charge recorded a personal best time in placing second in the men's 5000-metre.

Blacks said prior to the just concluded meet, Forde's best time was 15 minutes 38 seconds, which he clocked at the Hampton Games (Trinidad) earlier this year.

Payne who contested the men's 800-metre, returned one minute 51 seconds, which is .33 of a second faster than the 1:51.33 he did at this year's Junior Carifta Games in Bahamas.

According to Payne's coach Foster Sampson, the Atoms Athletic Club athlete who is sponsored in full by Mings Products and Services Limited, was beaten by a United States based Trinidadian with a senior ranking. He (Trinidadian) clocked one minute 47 seconds.

The two athletes received a special invitation with all expenses paid, from the Games committee, to compete at the meet. More details in tomorrow's edition.
