POLICE were last night grilling a reputed `spiritual healer' following the discovery of a woman's body in a shallow grave in a city yard.

The dead woman is believed to be Camille Seenauth, about 32 years. She was found buried in a shallow grave at Lot 14, Second Street, Alberttown, around mid-morning yesterday.

Police who swooped on the yard and unearthed the body following a reported tip-off, subsequently took into custody Pamela Alves, also known as Patricia Grenville, a resident of the adjoining yard, Lot 15.

They also seized eggs soaked in a liquid in containers and other items.

Residents in the area said Alves is a "spiritual healer".

Sources said Police are seeking a close relative of Alves who reportedly lived with her and a son in one of the houses in Lot 15.

The dead woman was said to be wearing a wedding band and bruises were observed about the body, hands and feet. It is also believed that she was sexually molested.

Seenauth reportedly hailed from Trybest, Lower Pomeroon, in Region Two, (Pomeroon/Supenaam).

She lived too at Charity and at Franton Street, Anna Regina before migrating to the city about a year ago, sources said.

They said she was involved in an accident, had suffered head injuries and was a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital, and upon her discharge began visiting Alves before eventually living there.

Scores of curious people gathered as the Police removed the body and took Alves into custody.

Police also took away a quantity of eggs found soaked in liquid in containers, a large black bag and other utensils from Alves' house.

Reports are that Police were tipped off after a neighbour observed the dead woman being removed from Alves' home and buried in a hole in the yard.

Meanwhile, the body of a half-naked middle-aged man of East Indian descent was yesterday discovered lying across a drain in front of the Guyana Lottery Company office, Lamaha Street, Alberttown, Georgetown.
