A few years ago I was among those who used his pen to cry out against capital punishment, especially when I learnt of impending executions in Guyana.

The current display of lawlessness from the media and other persons and the disregard for human lives through words and actions have forced me, to revisit my belief in relation to the

gallows.

I am now in favour of capital punishment. Those who do not

value human lives must not expect their lives to be valued. They must be brave enough to face the consequences of their actions.

The execution of a murderer, I now believe, is an action of a highly civilised society.
