Dear Editor,

Most Guyanese are upbeat about the recent visit by the Cruise ship Clipper Adventurer with over one hundred eco-tourists on board.

This was a great breakthrough for Guyana and holds a wealth of opportunity for us in the future. We were one of the territories on the itinerary for this cruise, the others being Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, Venezuela, Suriname and French Guiana.

This is a strong answer to those gloom and doom prophets who can portray nothing but a dismal future for us and our children to fit their own narrow agenda.

From all reports the visit was an extremely successful one with the visitors expressing a desire to come again as many of them also said that when they return home they will tell their families and friends to come to Guyana as it is a beautiful place. One of the visitors complimented us on our wonderful infrastructure as he said it was a wonderful situation where we had the ability to put together things for a hundred people. He added that Guyana has a lot to offer and that the Company will definitely bring more tourists to the country.

Yours faithfully,

Jason Black
