Dear Editor,

Further to my last letter concerning lost items in mail sent by me from England to Guyana I have since received a full and comprehensive letter from the Acting Postmaster General Leon Dickson of the GPO. In this an explanation was given for the theft and pilfering of monies and mail which was apparently done in Trinidad.

In view of the fact that the postal authorities had previously warned the Royal Mail in the UK about this and they'd failed to heed the advice given, I have now deemed the latter to be responsible for putting important documents, monies and parcels at risk and would be seeking compensation as soon as possible. This now absolves the Guyana Postal Service from any breach and has restored my confidence in our system.

Yours faithfully,

Helena Bishop
