Dear Editor,

I write to let the Guyanese people and the government know of the bad treatment the Guyanese people have to face when they enter the Barbados airport. They disrespect us in all sorts of ways, many times they tell us to sit on the bench and wait ,for hours we sit there and wait without a clue of what's going on. They treat us like we are nobody, like we don't have a homeland.

That's not all, it's very difficult for us to get an extension if we decide to extend our holiday. The Barbadians must remember that in the 60's when people from all over the Caribbean used to run to Guyana to seek employment they were treated as equals, like Caribbean brothers and sisters, especially the Bajans. The government should try and do something about this situation that Guyanese are facing and let them know we come from a beautiful home too.

Yours faithfully,

A. Breedy
