Dear Editor,

As a follow up to Stephanie Persaud's letter (26 02 2002) captioned `First Lady rarely seen at public functions' President Jagdeo should consult Prime Minister Sam Hinds to find out the role of the first lady in politics. When Sam Hinds is acting as President, the first lady fills her office with grace and dignity.

The missing first lady should be the concern of all Guyanese. It seems strange that the media is mum on this subject. Is it that they know and are not telling? Or is it that they don't care?

Mrs Varshnie Jagdeo seems to be a capable person dealing with he Kids First fund work, why isn't she more visible as the first lady? It will be nice if SN could explain the case of the missing first lady or raise the matter at one of Dr Roger Luncheon's cabinet briefings.

Yours faithfully,

Vic Lobert
