Minibuses a symptom of lawlessness

Dear Editor,

It is astonishing to see how lawless Guyanese have become. The traffic department has issued private bus operators a road service licence to provide public transportation. If the operators do not adhere to the conditions of such licence, it should be revoked. The behaviour of these people is blatant eyepass when the authorities seek to put an end to their disregard for life and property. The government is in no way trying to take bread out of their mouth, all they are doing is to put measures in place, i.e. compulsory seat belts, no speeding, no loud music and the only penalty for this is significant fines which is the best thing ever.

Yours faithfully,

Danny Basil
