The defence continued its cross-examination on Thursday of two key witnesses when the preliminary inquiry into the America Street cambio robbery resumed in front of Chief Magistrate, Paul Fung-A-Fat.

Another police witness also began giving his testimony. Superintendent Leon Fraser and Orwin McAulay, a taxi-driver, both took the witness box as well as Assistant Superintendent Trevor Husbands of the Criminal Investigation Department, Eve Leary.

Toyin Anderson and Clyde Atwell are jointly charged with six counts of attempted murder and two of robbery under arms. Along with Linden London called `Blackie' and Andrew Douglas, for whom arrest warrants were issued, the defendants are accused of pulling off a daring and bloody, daylight robbery on the D. Singh and Sons Cambio and another businessman on September 22. The mid-morning robbery saw millions of dollars in local and foreign currencies being stolen and six persons, including a policeman, being shot.

Anderson and Atwell, who are being represented by Joseph Harmon and Basil Williams respectively, will return to court on January 7.
