BWIA changes New Year's schedules

Low customer demand for travel on the specific dates of December 31, 1999 and January 1, 2000 has forced the Trinidad-based BWIA International Airways to make changes to scheduled flights to five of its international destinations.

According to a BWIA release, the specific flights being cancelled are: London BW900 on December 31, and BW901 on January 1; New York BW426 on December 31, and BW427 on January 1;

Toronto flights BW606 on December 31, and BW607 on January 1, have been rescheduled to operate as BW608 and BW609 on December 31. BW608 will depart Georgetown at 00:10 am and Port-of-Spain at 2:15 am on December 31, arriving in Toronto at 6:55 am. BW609 will depart Toronto on December 31, at 9:00 am and is scheduled to arrive in Port-of-Spain at 3:15 pm, and Georgetown at 5:05 pm.

Meanwhile, BWIA has also cut Flight BW444 from Miami on December 31 and BW443 on January 1. However, flight BW432 to Miami on January 1 will depart Port-of-Spain at 6:50 am, and Barbados at 8:15 am, arriving at 11:05 am.

The airline will also be cancelling its Georgetown flight BW463 on December 31 and BW461/462 on Januray 1.

The company in its release has reported that it is Y2K compliant and that all other services on December 31 and January 1 will operate as published.
