The Guyana Police Force, the Guyana Prison Service and the Guyana Fire Service have been granted commuted overtime allowances ranging from $4,000 to $15,000.

A Guyana Information Services (GIS) press release said yesterday that the Ministry of Home Affairs has disclosed that the increases will benefit all ranks.

The issue of salary increases for these ranks is still under discussion, the release stated.

GIS said a commitment to increase allowances to these ranks was given by President Janet Jagan and reiterated recently in Parliament by Home Affairs Minister, Ronald Gajraj.
