A new fast food outlet has opened at Bent and George streets, which
caters to those with a taste for creole food.
Estwick Northe of NP Fry Chicken yesterday launched his latest in a
series of fast food restaurants, NP Creole Corner, a $4 million
investment.
Northe, who said he has been in the food business for about 25 years,
has opened four fast-food outlets since 1997 when the first NP Fry
Chicken was opened on upper Robb Street.
The businessman said while he had no confidence in the economy, he
had confidence in the country. He said he was prompted to open NP
Creole Corner to fill a void for good home-cooked creole food, especially
for overseas-based Guyanese who come back to holiday here.
Delicacies on sale at the new outlet include black pudding, cook-up rice,
dhall (peas puree) and salt fish, dhall and shrimp curry, fried chicken,
fried rice, roti and curry, smoked herring and dhall and souse.
