Prem Misir heads new govt information agency By Miranda La Rose

The Government Information Agency has been established as of October 1 with Dr Prem Misir as its director and Daniel Singh as its chief information officer.

The agency replaces the Guyana Information Services and Ministry of Information. The Ministry of Information was scrapped this year.

Cabinet Secretary, Dr Roger Luncheon, told the media yesterday that the agency comprises 20 technical staff and ten administrative staff and its goal is to provide the government's information needs in a modern environment.
