Guyana's world boxing title hopeful Wayne `Big Truck" Braithwaite will have his chance to wear the prestigious belt later this year when he is due to fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) cruiserweight championship.

His manager Trinidadian Buxo Potts told Stabroek News that the 24-year-old pugilist will fight Louis Azille of the Dominican Republic sometime in October for the title to be vacated by Juan Gomez who is moving up to the heavyweight division.

"I will travel up to America in a few days to open talks with Don King who will promote the bout," Potts said from Trinidad and Tobago.

He added that the Braithwaite fight will be on the undercard of the eagerly awaited unification showdown between American Zab Judah and Russian Kosta Tszyu at junior welterweight. Azille is currently rated number two by the WBC.

When asked what he knows about Azille, Potts confidently stated "all I know is that we will knock him out".

He added that Braith-waite will have two warmup fights in the interim, with the first set for California next month.

The Plaisance-born Braithwaite who is training in New York is undefeated in 15 fights with 13 knockouts and has a number four WBC ranking.
