Ringside Promotions to honour boxers

More than 50 sports personalities will be honoured by boxing promotion group Ringside Promotions at its variety show in honour of world champion `Andrew Sixhead' Lewis on Saturday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Heading the list is Lewis who won Guyana's first world title last February in the United States. Also included are world title challengers Patrick Ford, Lennox Blackmore, Terrence Ali, Andrew Murray, Anthony Andrews, Raul Frank and Michael Parris--- Guyana's lone Olympic medalist.

Boxing administrators, officials, journalists, promoters and even spectators are also included on the list.

A special award will be given to Lewis' mother Yvonne Everesly.

According to Ringside Promotions head Herman Harris, the show will also feature video tape viewings of several of Guyana's leading boxers in action including those to be honoured.

Stone Love musical productions will provide entertainment and for a dance after the show at the sports hall's car park. Starting time is 7 p.m.
