Vendor Shawn Bobb who was shot by a member of the City Constabulary early Friday morning was in a stable condition in the Male Surgery Ward of the Georgetown Hospital yesterday.

He was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition Friday morning amid continuing clashes over vending on Regent Street and underwent surgery shortly after.

Stabroek News was unable to visit him yesterday afternoon as no visitors except close relatives were being allowed, and he was reported to be under heavy security.

Bobb, a vendor who sold his goods at the corner of Regent and Wellington streets, was shot in the knee and hip. He underwent surgery but it was reported that a bullet was still lodged in his knee.

Meanwhile, a staffer at the Georgetown Hospital told this newspaper that City Constable Solomon Taylor who was stabbed on Thursday after being attacked by vendors and their supporters is "recovering quite well." Bobb is likely to face charges for injuring Taylor.
