Ethnic harmony activists, Rights of Children (ROC), will stage an event with a difference at Thirst Park Saturday at 4:00 pm when they host "Ethnic Vibrations" to showcase Guyana's cultural strands.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the event wearing any ethnic fashion of their choice, a release from ROC said.

Further, Guyanese are being invited to the event to celebrate and learn more about all the cultural strands that make up "we culture", the release stated.

Ethnic Vibrations will also feature the talents of established local personalities such as Henry Rodney, Rudy Pateedeo, Miriam, Prince Wazir, and the Couchman family, the National School of Dance, as well as dance, song and dramatic performances by youths from around the country.

According to the release, to promote learning more about other cultures the show will include segments on how to tie turbans, wrap saris, and do Amerindian body painting.

Tickets are available from Bonny's Supermarket, Bish & Sons Supermarket, Shell Gas Station, Vlissengen Road, C&F at Harbour View Mall and the Guyana Human Rights Centre. The organisers said that the event is emphasising bringing people closer to learn from each other rather than the raising of funds and that is reflected in the modest entrance fees - $100 for adults and $40 for children.
