BWIA official recruited as new GA 2000 CEO

Guyana Airways 2000 has hired Tom Scarlett as its new chief executive officer.

According to a GA 2000 press release yesterday, the Jamaica-born Scarlett has 25 years experience in the airline business, working with Trans Jamaica, Air Jamaica and Eastern airlines. He is currently BWIA's general manager for North America.

Scarlett is expected to start work by the end of the month replacing the temporary CEO Nowrang Persaud, who will return to his position of director of Human Resources at Demerara Distillers Ltd.
