Foreign Minister, Clement Rohee is satisfied with the proposed agreement between the Guyana Government and Beal Aerospace to set up a rocket launching facility here.

However, he told reporters yesterday at a press conference he hosted at his ministry's conference room that his ministry had not been asked to source any assistance for the government in negotiating the deal. He told reporters that it was not for him to provide unsolicited assistance to the government team.

Rohee stressed that he and his colleagues had signed on to the agreement and that as foreign minister he did not see the deal posing any threat to the country's maintenance of its territorial integrity.

At a press conference last week Prime Minister Sam Hinds told reporters that one of the government negotiators used the Internet to access information on rocket launch issues and about contracts signed by other countries where rocket launch sites had been set up. The government's negotiating team was led by Edgar Heyligar, Commissioner General of the Guyana Revenue Authority and included Deochand Narain, head of the Guyana Office for Investment.
