Working People's Alliance (WPA) co-leader, Dr Rupert Roopnaraine, is calling for the full text of the proposed agreement with Beal Aerospace Technologies to be released for public consideration and judgement.

In a press statement yesterday, Dr Roopnaraine noted that the open contention in the last 24 hours between the government and the PNC over the terms of the proposed agreement proved that no confidential information has had to be revealed by either side.

He also stated that the negotiators, who were with Prime Minister Sam Hinds at a media briefing to rebut what Opposition Leader, Desmond Hoyte had to say about the proposed deal, were unable to explain why the terms of the proposed deal were held secret from even the parliamentary parties.

Dr Roopnaraine said that because Guyanese were entitled to pass judgement and impose their good sense upon an agreement which will bind all citizens of Guyana especially the indigenous people, his party was proposing the release of the agreement.

It also proposed that Guyanese with knowledge and experience of launching activity be invited to scan the proposals.
