World renowned bodybuilders for Fitness Expo 2000
Bodybuilding fans are in for a massive treat in June when two of the world's most distinguished bodybuilders will grace the convention centre of the Ocean View International Hotel at the Fitness Expo 2000 event with the presence. According to a press release from the Fitness Expo organising committee, eight time Mr Olympia Lee Haney of the United States will make his first visit to Guyana to officiate at the event. He will be accompanied by world renowned Guyanese Laura Crevalle, holder of the Ms International female bodybuilding title. Crevalle who is based in Canada, will also officiate at Fitness Expo 2000 scheduled for June 2-4 and will participate in the Georgetown leg of the Fitness Expo relay. She will be joined by two-time Guyana Sportswoman-of-the-Year Marian Burnette who will also be a special guest. Burnette, who is pursuing an athletics college scholarship in the United States, is a former Miss Flex Night champion and will be part of the officiating panel. Haney will do a special presentation entitled "Eating to win" and will also be featured prominently in the booths at the exhibition, discussing health and bodybuilding issues with members of the public. For her part Crevalle will be featured in an exhibition titled "Women Building Muscles" and she will also cut the ribbon to open the exhibition booths.
