Ten escape death after bus hits cow

Ten persons miraculously escaped death on Monday night after the mini-bus they were in hit a cow and turned turtle several times. Among the injured who were taken to the Ambulatory Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital were Enid Melville, 28, of Cemetery Road, Georgetown and Royston Melville, 35, also of Cemetery Road, Georgetown.

Reports reaching Georgetown disclosed that the mini-bus with its passengers was travelling to the city when some cows ran across the road in the vicinity of Grove, East Bank Demerara. The vehicle crashed into one of the animals, killing it, before turning turtle several times and ending up against a nearby fence damaging it.
