The Teaching Service Commission has advertised over 700 senior vacancies in the country's nursery, primary and secondary schools and practical instruction centres.

A release from the Secretary to the Teaching Service Commission said that among the vacancies are the headship of St Gabriel's, Lodge and Mon Repos nursery schools. Primary schools in need of heads are Anna Regina, Meten-Meer-Zorg, Tucville and West Ruimveldt. Secondary schools for which heads have been advertised include St Rose's High, Leonora, North Ruimveldt Multilateral, Tagore Memorial, Bartica, Linden Foundation, Skeldon High and Annai.

The release said that application forms may be obtained from the regional education Officers, the Assistant Chief Education Officer with responsibility for Georgetown, the Guyana Teachers' Union and the Secretary to the Teaching Service Commission.

Via a resolution, the TSC recently rescinded the power of regional education officers to make these appointments.
