A 40-minute video aimed at promoting Guyana's eco-tourism potential will have its premiere to coincide with the Fourth Annual Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development in Georgetown from May 19-22.

The video production titled "Guyana - God's Own Country" features rare scenes of the eco-tourism package being offered by CORTOURS, a new destination on the eastern Corentyne River, a press release from Guyenterprise on Monday said.

Unique shots of Georgetown and interior locations are complemented by endorsements from President Bharrat Jagdeo and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Industry, Geoffrey Da Silva.

Guyenterprise stated that an unedited version of the tape was viewed by Da Silva who was said to be impressed by both the scenes captured and the high standard of technical expertise.

The production also highlights the first Mashramani celebrations of the 2000 era, and also features clips of the recent royal visit and a variety of on-camera commendations by public figures, including former President Desmond Hoyte, Chairman of Banks DIH, Clifford Reis and Commissioner of Police, Laurie Lewis, besides notables in the local tourism industry, the release noted.

Spearheading the production is Bhaskar Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto-based Equality group of companies. He is inviting local advertisers to purchase spots on the video before final production work is completed in Toronto in the next three weeks.
