Mini-bus accidents account for half the road deaths--police

Half the number of people killed in road accidents for the year so far, were involved in mini-bus accidents, according to statistics from the Police Traffic Department.

It was stated that 36 persons have so far been killed on the country's roads for the year when compared with 33 persons for the same period last year. The police revealed that 18 persons were killed as a result of seven accidents involving mini-buses.

The Traffic Department said it would continue its programme of education to make the roads safer.
