Eon Poole, one of several persons whose telephone numbers were recorded on Linden `Blackie' London's cell phone, was held by the police on Monday.

According to Poole's lawyer Mortimer Codette, his client was picked up on Monday and dumped into a police vehicle face down. He said the man was being held on an allegation that he was waiting to commit a felony. Codette said Poole has been held without bail and if he did not appear in court today he would file a writ of habeas corpus against the police.

London was killed on February 9, when he emerged from the Toucan Guest House where he had been holed up for 11 hours exchanging gunfire with members of the Guyana Police Force and Guyana Defence Force.

Police have reportedly made contact with several persons whose telephone numbers were found listed on London's cell phone, which was found in the Toucan Guest House.

Stabroek News understands Poole was one of the persons who was asked to contact the police for questioning. London, according to police, had been involved in 14 robberies and two murders.
