A woman, who allegedly abused police and accused them of killing Linden London called 'Blackie', was yesterday placed on $5,000 bail when she appeared before Senior Magistrate, Dawn Gregory-Barnes.

Jacqueline Lewis, for whom no address was given, pleaded not guilty to a charge of disorderly behaviour.

According to Sergeant Oliver Coates, on Thursday the police went to the defendant, who was at the Berbice bus park, to warn her of allegations received pertaining to abusive and threatening language.

However, the defendant allegedly started to speak in a loud tone of voice causing a crowd to gather. She was told to be quiet but instead allegedly told the police that they had killed 'Blackie' and started to abuse the police ranks. She was told of the offence, arrested and later charged. The matter continues on March 20.
