Kallicharran produces Mash diary

Mashramani this year will be given an added boost with the introduction of a daily televised programme giving an up-to-date look at behind-the-scenes activities in various Mash camps, band rooms, insights from organisers and competitors and clips from events.

Described as a daily diary of events, the 27-minute programme is being produced and presented by independent producer and culturalist, Laxhmie Kallicharran and is called 'Mashin' Down 2000.'

A press release from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports said that the programme began airing on February 10 and will run until February 24 on NTN 18/69 and VCT 28 at 0800 hrs, MTV 14/65 at 0530 hrs/1730 hrs, NBTV 9 at 1530 hrs/2400 hrs, Linmine 8 at 2000 hrs, LRTV (Berbice) at 1630 hrs and RCA (Essequibo) at 1900 hrs.

The ministry is calling for persons with suitable out-of-town Mashramani video footage to send it to Mash coordinator Laxhmie Kallicharran c/o John Fernandes Limited, Astroarts, 305 East Street, Georgetown telephone 68389/66256 or Lennox Canterbury, PRO Mash 2000, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, 71/72 Main and Quamina Streets, Georgetown, 55003.

"Mashin' Down 2000" is to be produced with sponsored support from the business community.
