As expected, Guyana Airways (GA) 2000's Director of Operations, Larry Singh has resigned.

A memo circulated to GA 2000 staff on Tuesday said that Singh had resigned the same day. At a recent editors briefing, GA 2000 Chairman Yesu Persaud had said that Singh had indicated his desire to leave as of the end of November but was prevailed upon to stay on a while longer. It was also said at the briefing that Singh would not be relinquishing his relationship with the airline entirely. Singh is a shareholder in GA 2000.

GA 2000's Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Mekdeci is also expected to demit office at the end of this month. At the briefing, Persaud had said that Mekdeci had indicated his intention to leave at the end of December but had agreed to defer this. Mekdeci is expected to be retained as a consultant.
