Tourism Ministry plans cultural extravaganza of the Guianas

THE many cultural forms of the Guianas' will be captured in "The Main Big Lime 99', a tourism extravaganza showcasing the art, craft, music, dance, theatre, and food of the participating territories.

A release from the Trade and Tourism Ministry announced that "The Main Big Lime 99" will be staged on Main Street, Georgetown on Saturday, November 27, under the theme, "Journey Through the World of the Guianas: an Exposition of Folklore From Lands of Many Languages".

This cultural event which promises to be a treat for the public, is one of the activities planned to observe Tourism Awareness Month. It is coordinated by Ms. Margo Boyce and Mr. Geoff Da Silva under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Industry.

Delegations from Suriname, Brazil and Colombia are expected to participate in "The Main Big Lime 99."
